The choice depends on how the participants work together – not on the buyer’s job title.
You want your own team – a leadership team, a management team or any team with shared goals and responsibility for results – to build greater trust, alignment and collective effectiveness.

Everyone is assessed together, so the team gets a shared, team-level view alongside each person’s own insight.
You work in HR or L&D, or you’re a senior leader, organising the assessment for an intact team you’re not part of.

It’s still one team that works together, so Team Development fits. You’re the buyer, not a participant.
Participants come from different teams or functions – for example a leadership programme, a graduate intake or a cross-functional group.
Recommended: Personal Development
Each person gets insight they can apply across their working relationships. There’s no combined team diagnosis, because they don’t work as one team.
Both profiles use the same five behaviours – Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability and Results. They differ in who takes part and what the results cover.

A straightforward process, whether you’re buying for one team or several.
Buy Team Development for each intact team – the checkout lets you set the number of profiles (minimum 3) and shows the total before you pay.
After payment we email you a private registration link. Use it to enter each participant’s name and email address – plus the team name for Team Development. You can add people now or return to the same link later.
We send assessment invitations and monitor completion. The assessment takes around 15–20 minutes online.
Personal Development participants each receive their own access code by email when they’re registered.
Once everyone in your team has completed their assessment, we send the reports together in one bundle.
Personal Development participants can view their report immediately after they have completed the assessment.
The reports are the starting point. What matters is the conversation the team has about them.
A suitably prepared team leader, HR business partner or internal facilitator can run the debrief using the reports. Read a sample first so you know what participants will see.

Assessing several teams, or building profiles into a wider programme? Each intact team needs its own Team Development group, so its results reflect the people who actually work together. We never pool unrelated teams into one team report. Personal Development participants, by contrast, can come from anywhere in the organisation.

The Five Behaviours is built on Patrick Lencioni’s model from The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. Many leaders already know the book. The profiles turn that familiar framework into personalised insight and a practical conversation about your own team.
Look at how the participants work together, not at who is buying. If they form one intact team with shared goals, choose Team Development. If they come from different teams – a programme cohort, for example – choose Personal Development. Our detailed comparison covers less clear-cut cases.
It isn’t the right fit. Team Development produces team-level results, which only make sense for people who actually work together. Three or more people from different teams don’t become a team because of the numbers – Personal Development gives each of them individual insight instead.
Yes. Each intact team is set up as its own group, with its own team name and team results, so the simplest route is one Team Development order per team. If you’re planning several teams at once, tell us about them first and we’ll help you plan the groupings and timing.
Yes. The reports are designed to be used without a Mission facilitator, and a suitably prepared leader, HR partner or internal facilitator can lead the conversation. We send assessment invitations and monitor completion. Once everyone in your team has completed their assessment, we send the reports together in one bundle. Each team’s bundle is sent once that team is complete, so one team finishing early doesn’t wait for another.
