General Questions

Cross-cutting questions about Everything DiSC that apply regardless of which profile you are considering.

DiSC refers to the broader model of human behaviour, originally developed by psychologist William Moulton Marston in the 1920s. Everything DiSC® is a specific suite of assessments published by Wiley — the current professional standard for DiSC-based development.

When people refer to a DiSC assessment in a workplace context, they almost always mean Everything DiSC. All profiles sold through BuyDISC are official Wiley Everything DiSC assessments. See also: Everything DiSC vs free DISC tests.

The online assessment takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. There is no time limit — you can take as long as you need.

It is best completed in one uninterrupted sitting so your responses reflect your natural behavioural preferences rather than a considered or edited view. See: How the Everything DiSC assessment works.

Yes. When you purchase a DiSC profile, you receive an assessment link that can be forwarded to the person completing it. The link is tied to the profile purchase, not your own account — the recipient enters their own details when they follow the link.

This makes it straightforward to buy profiles as part of a team order or on behalf of a colleague. For team purchases, see: Buying DiSC for a team.

Assessment links issued through BuyDISC are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. If you need an extension, please contact us.

Once the assessment has been completed and your report generated, the report itself does not expire.

You will receive a confirmation email from BuyDISC containing your assessment link. Click the link, complete the 15–20 minute assessment, and your personalised report is generated immediately.

For most profiles, your report is delivered as a PDF to the email address you enter during the assessment. For Everything DiSC Catalyst, your report is available via Wiley’s online platform instead.

Yes. The Everything DiSC assessment is fully mobile-responsive and can be completed on any device — smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. We recommend using a device with a stable internet connection and completing the assessment in one uninterrupted sitting.

Free DISC tests are self-scoring quizzes that classify your answers into a type. Everything DiSC uses adaptive testing technology developed by Wiley: the assessment adjusts in real time based on your responses, producing a more accurate and nuanced result.

The reports are also substantially more detailed — a typical Everything DiSC Workplace report is 20–27 pages of individually tailored content. Read the full comparison: Everything DiSC vs free DISC tests.

Both tools are used in workplace development, but they measure different things. MBTI classifies people into 16 personality types based on four binary preference dimensions. DiSC focuses specifically on observable workplace behaviour — how you approach tasks, other people, pace, and procedures.

DiSC is generally preferred for team communication and development workshops because of its accessible language and practical focus on adapting behaviour rather than categorising personality type.

All Everything DiSC profiles start from the same adaptive assessment — the core questions are consistent across the suite. However, each profile uses those responses to generate a report tailored to a different context: workplace communication, management, sales, conflict, or leadership.

If you want a different profile focus, you would need to purchase and complete a new assessment. For guidance on which profile fits your situation, see: Which DiSC profile should I buy?

Yes, invoicing is available for organisations purchasing multiple profiles or booking facilitated sessions. Please contact us to arrange an invoice order.
